		Gold is used in colors of red, green, yellow, white, and rose. Gold is treated like fabric; pleated, tucked, tied, and draped. The popular use of large, semiprecious stones including: aquamarine, opal, citrine, amethyst, peridot, moonstone, and topaz. Precious stones such as diamond, ruby, emerald, and sapphire were used as accents, if at all. Cocktail jewelry reigned supreme! Eccentric combinations of gemstones prevailed. A large number of women in the workplace led to more affordable jewelry that could be worn in a work environment.
