Jade
Thought to bestow long life and wisdom, jade actually refers to two distinct minerals: jadeite and nephrite.

Rich green jadeite, traditionally reserved for royalty, is appropriately named Imperial Jade. Jadeite also occurs in lavender, white, red and black. Nephrite is found in many colors as well, including green-gray, brown, and dark green.

Jadeite is primarily found in Burma, while nephrite may come from China, Russia, New Zealand, and the Americas. Some may be dyed to simulate the rarer natural colors.
